Chair caning or the re-weaving of bamboo cane in chair seats and other furniture parts is becoming a lost art. Very few people are left who know how to replace the bamboo weaving in chair seats. Our schools do not teach it therefore only our senior citizens know how to do it. In some areas of the United States the School for the Blind taught the art to blind people and the blind people became very skilled at the craft. Today there are only a few pockets of people in some states that know how to cane chairs.
Cedarberry has been caning chairs for over 25 years in middle Tennessee.
See below for examples of various kinds of caning. Email us at Cedarberry1@united.net and attach a picture of your chair that needs caning and we will reply with an estimate asap. Call us at 615 776-2529 or cell phone 615 336-6471.
